Information, resources, support and community
as we care for our aging parents and for ourselves
Come join us in January and learn valuable FREE information on: Driving & Aging
Date / Time: Tuesday, January 21 — 5:30-7:00 pm
Location: Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church
(825 Wesley Drive Statesville, NC 28677)
Presenter(s): Miriam Young, Driver Rehabilitation Specialist
What’s appropriate — safe — relative to Mom’s and Dad’s driving? Ceasing to drive is a significant step regardless of how the decision is made. Retiring from driving typically impacts the elder’s feelings of independence. It may also significantly affect opportunities for socialization, and time and energy needed from the adult-child caregiver. This meeting will help attendees learn to: Identify signs a parent may need a driving evaluation and/or to retire from driving, understand the driving evaluation process, and become more aware of community mobility options.
We hope you will join us for this important program!
